Nicky Rudd – Padua Communications
Tell us a little bit about your business
Padua Communications is a content, marketing and PR agency supporting B2B and B2C clients. We help businesses tell their stories for long‑term brand awareness and short‑term sales and lead generation. We also offer Supernova, a marketing mentoring service for SMEs wanting in‑house marketing with expert guidance.
- What are some of the most popular services that you provide?
Marketing strategy, content for social media and websites, blogging, email campaign content, case studies, video, thought leadership articles, event planning and expo support, account management and project management.
- Has there been a particular business highlight this year?
Positive feedback about some of our work: A recent piece of video work where we did the research, scripting, filming, editing, project management and voiceover work which included this comment: “Thank you and your team so much for helping us to produce the POD room video. I’ve shared it with the partners and staff – we’re all delighted with it, thank you.”
Being asked to be part of a panel for a L&D conference happening in March and getting this comment from running a Marketing Masterclass for an organisation: “Attended a fantastic Marketing Masterclass with Nicky today. Wonderfully helpful, informative and engaging. A really enjoyable session. Would highly recommend.”
- What do you enjoy most about networking?
Finding new contacts and building relationships. I love learning about other businesses and applications. That’s part of the reason why we work with both B2B and B2C clients and have so much experience working in different industries.
- What do you love about working in the geographical area that you work?
I have a puppy, so I get to walk every day. We’re surrounded by beautiful places – beaches and forests. I love being outside…even in the rain…which is just as well at the moment!
- When you’re not busy working, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Spending time with family and friends, reading, painting, gardening, walking, Pilates, watching films and going to the theatre.
- What are your favourite places to visit locally?
Swanage (where I grew up), Salisbury Playhouse (where I’m a Trustee), Godshill Inclosure and Hyde Common in the forest and Wolvercroft garden centre (which was my lifesaver in the pandemic!)
- Tell us any other interesting facts about you that you think people would like to know…
I used to a be a secondary school teacher, was very nearly the voice of the speaking clock (if you’re wise enough to remember that!) and won a competition to have a short play I wrote performed at The Rose Theatre in Kingston upon Thames.
